about

You would have thought in 2021, the planet would have solved the problem of homelessness. This track was inspired by a visit to a Lifesigns gig in Edinburgh and passingdisplaced people sleeping cold in doorways.

lyrics

Living under the thunderclouds and the rain
Sleeping cold and hungry again
While the people with their business all rush by
Never pausing to ask or reason why
Let alone make contact eye to eye
We are lost

No one knew me
They saw straight through me
It’s an awkward truth
But here I am the living proof

As the tide of people leave the rocks exposed
In the doorways of shops long since closed
They rush home to their family and their friends
But for us this nightmare never ends
And the dark cold once more descends
We are lost

We seek assistance
Against dogged resistance
Where are all those equal chances?
The same circumstances?

And as you walk right past
With all your privilege and class
I really hope and wish you
Would see the bigger issue
